Millionaire businessman Sir Philip Green, who sold BHS to a consortium called Retail Acquisitions for £1 last year, was seen looking through the windows of the shop in King Street on Monday.
Sixty jobs are under threat at the store – and 11,000 nationally – after administrators Duff & Phelps announced last month that they had failed to find a buyer for the company, which went into administration in April with a £571 million pensions deficit.
All 164 shops, including BHS’ King Street store, are to be wound down and sold off to other retailers in the coming weeks.
