Gavin Neil Starks (36), also known as Gavin Barnett-Roberts, pleaded guilty to a charge of common assault at the St Brelade’s Bay Hotel on 28 May.
The prosecution evidence relied primarily on a statement given by the bar manager of the four-star hotel who was considered an independent witness.
A letter given to the court at a previous hearing led Assistant Magistrate Peter Harris to conclude that the victim seemed to be trying to sanitise the incident.
