Jersey nursery care most expensive in British Isles

And the figures show that parents in Jersey are paying 50 per cent more than the British average for the youngest nursery places.

The true extent of the costs of childcare in the Island is laid bare as States Members prepare to this week debate a move to scrap controversial cuts to free nursery education for families earning more than £75,000.

The cuts, which it is estimated would save around £250,000 per year, have been proposed by Education Minister Rod Bryans.
