Offshore financial centres, such as the Crown Dependencies, have come under increasing criticism in recent weeks since the Panama Papers data leak revealed that they are storing billions of pounds of wealth, much of which has been linked to world leaders and large corporations.
But Senator Gorst said that the Prime Minister repeatedly praised the Crown Dependencies for their level of financial transparency.
