Firefighters were called to the scene at around 6.10 pm on Thursday after the bonfire got out of control.
Four firefighters helped tackle the hillside blaze while attached to secured ropes due to the fire’s ‘precarious position’.
Crew Commander Dan Laurens said that Islanders must ensure they do not leave bonfires unattended at any time.
