Café run purely for charity closes today

Pure Charity Coffee Shop donated 80 per cent of its net profits to Jersey Hospice Care, with the remaining 20 per cent going to another charity appointed annually, including the Ecce Home Trust, Teenage Cancer Trust, Brighter Futures and Jersey Action Against Rape.

Antonia Cooke, Pure’s owner and founder, who is closing the business due to family commitments, said: ‘Generating over £170,000 for such worthy causes would not have been possible without the time, energy, enthusiasm and love that the staff and volunteers have dedicated to the shop since we opened seven years ago.’

The shop is to reopen as Bernie’s Market Tea Stall at the end of next month.
