Murdered Islander described Thai island as ‘paradise’ just hours before he was killed

Former Victoria College student David Miller was found bludgeoned to death alongside UK resident Hannah Witheridge on a beach in the popular holiday island in September 2014.

During an inquest in Jersey, the 24-year-old’s mother Sue Miller told how the family chatted on video messaging service Skype shortly before he was killed.

‘He was at ease with the world and described the island as “paradise”. We were so blessed to have had that contact with him,’ she said in a statement read by Deputy Viscount Advocate Mark Harris.
