Tribute for stalwart of Swimarathon

As a tribute to keen swimmer Neil Hussey, who died last year, the event’s annual RBC Challenge Cup will be held in his honour.

The father of two’s widow, Blanca Palacin, has also organised her own tribute in memory of her late husband, who had been a member of the States of Jersey’s Customs Swimarathon team for the past three years – this year 72 people will be swimming in his memory.

The Swimarathon will take place at Les Quennevais between 9 and 13 March. Since the first Swimarathon in 1972, the event has raised more than £3.3 million for Island charities.
