Minister puts reform back on the agenda

Work has been going on behind the scenes formulating plans for change, and the matter of States reform is due to return to the public spotlight in the coming months.

And Chief Minister Ian Gorst is hoping that the issue could be solved by the end of the year and the necessary changes made before the next election in spring 2017.

‘Officers from my department and officers from the States Greffe have been working on it,’ said Senator Gorst, who added that although his department was involved, he was not leading the project.

The Privileges and Procedures Committee and its chairman, Len Norman, are also involved.
