Volunteers help transform Plemont headland

The Jersey Conservation Volunteers, who donate their spare time to help with National Trust for Jersey projects, planted native shrubs such as gorse, broom, hawthorn and blackthorn between 10 am and 1 pm on Sunday.

Following the demolition of the dilapidated holiday village, staff at the National Trust for Jersey have been undertaking a wide range of habitat creation and management tasks at the site.

The work, which is still ongoing, has included the sowing of native heathland grasses, the creation of two ponds, bracken and grassland management, dry stone wall restoration and non-native plant eradication.
