GALLERY: Lantern Parade lights up town

Onlookers cheered and clapped as the Lantern Parade set off from the Weighbridge, snaking through the streets of town, stopping in West’s Centre, before finishing at the Millennium Town Park.

A concert was held in the park at which entertainment was provided by the choir of Haute Vallée School, as well as singers Luke Friend and Sara Strudwick.

The evening was rounded off with a fireworks display from Victoria College.

St Helier Constable Simon Crowcroft praised the efforts of honorary and States police in coordinating the event, and felt the Town Park had been a successful venue for festivities.

He said: ‘It’s the first time we have used the Town Park for this sort of event and it was interesting to see how it went.
