School says farewell to popular head teacher

Pam Pitman said goodbye to pupils, staff and parents of Grouville School on Friday, bringing to an end nine years as headteacher.

Mrs Pitman, who will turn 60 in January, was previously head at St John Primary School and deputy head at St Luke’s School.

She began her career at First Tower in 1977 and has also taught at St Martin, Trinity and St Mark’s schools.

In September Mrs Pitman was nominated for a Pride of Jersey Award for the best teacher category.
