Les Landes pupils plant first trees on Plémont headland

Year 5 pupils from Les Landes School helped the National Trust for Jersey’s lands team as they began the huge task of planting 1,900 trees and shrubs yesterday.

Species such as Scots pine, field maple and low-lying shrubs including broom, gorse and elder – which are ideally suited to the windy and cold conditions that the area endures during the winter months – are being planted on the land.
