Co-organiser Ben Newman is promising ‘a clubbing experience like nothing seen before in Jersey’ as the former tourist hotspot is transformed into a make-believe haunted town named St Jude.

Meanwhile, scores more party-goers will be at the burlesque-cum-magic show at Ce Soir nightclub at the Weighbridge this evening.

And dozens of costume-clad ‘undead’ are expected to attend the biggest Zombie Walk in the Channel Islands starting at West’s Centre from 6 pm on Saturday.

Registration starts at 5 pm but children (and adults) can get their faces painted at Chordz Coffee shop from 4 pm.

Last year about 100 people took part.

After the walk, which is open to all ages, over-18s can attend a Zombie Night at Rojo which will include live music from local rock band Flash Mob as well as internationally renowned Jersey-born DJ Hannah Jacques.

Admission is £5 and proceeds will go to charity.

For braver Islanders, interactive horror maze specialists Secrets Beneath are returning with a Halloween special dubbed Helloween, which is open at the Weighbridge on Saturday and Sunday from 6 pm to 11 pm.

See page 18 and 19 of Saturday’s copy of the JEP for an interview with the organiser.

Trick-or-treaters can expect fair but chilly weather in the evenings, according to Jersey Met Officer forecaster Sharon Merren.

Temperatures are expected to reach around 18°C in the day – 2°C short of last year – but it will drop to around 9°C at night.

The States police are urging any Islanders who feel vulnerable or threatened by anything connected to Halloween events to contact them on 612612.
