Thousands take part in Jersey Marathon

The fundraising race got under way at 9 am on Sunday, with runners starting and finishing in the Weighbridge area.

Split into three categories – the Marathon, the Relay Race, and the 3K Fun Run – the event attracted over 2,500 entrants in 2014, with over 60 per cent of marathon runners coming from off the Island.

The event features a variety of runner types and, as ever, many Islanders have today been lining the route to cheer the runners on.

The Relay Race sees teams of five runners taking on legs of the full marathon course, while the 3K Fun Run is open to everyone over nine years old.
