The popular TV show, which ran for six series’ on Channel 4, saw contestants attempting to complete physical and mental challenges across four themed zones – Aztec, Futuristic, Medieval and Industrial – in order to collect crystals, then attempt to win a prize from The Crystal Dome.

The first four series’ were presented by Richard O’Brien, while the final two were hosted by Ed Tudor-Pole.

The website for the new ‘interactive experience’ is calling for people to register their interest in taking part and says: ‘The legendary game show is back! But this time we all get to play!’

Crowdfunding for the product will begin on Sunday 14th June, when more information about the event will be shared.

Meanwhile, the Radio Times has now launched a campaign calling on The Crystal Maze to make a return to our television screens.
