Asked if there were any disappointments during the 5½ years that he had been Bailiff, Sir Michael referred to the failure of the Bishop to release the report, which followed a rift between the Church in Jersey and the Diocese of Winchester. Since March, the Church in the Channel Islands has been overseen by the Bishop of Dover.
In 2013 Jersey’s Dean, the Very Rev Bob Key, had his commission and powers to preach suspended for nearly two months, pending an investigation following a complaint made by a vulnerable woman against a churchwarden. The Dean was later cleared of any wrongdoing.
