She said she was left physically shaken after a chance encounter with him at her workplace and that following the incident all her counselling ‘went down the drain’.
The Victim Notification Scheme was introduced in 2012 to keep victims of serious crimes informed as to when their abusers or attackers are due to be released from prison. However, the woman said her case came before 2012 and she feared that many other victims who have suffered at the hands of criminals before the scheme’s introduction may have suffered similar ordeals to her.
