£500k cost to taxpayer for Sea Cadet HQ search

Much of that half a million pounds was spent on architects’ fees, legal fees, public relations costs, quantity surveyors, project managers and valuations.

It is now not clear how the cadets – with just over a sixth of their original budget remaining – are going to find a new home.

Questions over project spending were raised by Deputies Jackie Hilton and Mike Higgins during States questions on Tuesday, with Deputy Noel revealing the figures in the Chamber.
