Two trapped in car on cliff edge

Firefighters secured the car with a winch to prevent it from slipping and to allow paramedics to attend to the two occupants.

Three people were treated at the scene as a precaution and one was taken to hospital with a shoulder injury. It is understood that he has since been discharged.

Paul Malpas, operations manager for the Ambulance Service, said that all four were very lucky.

‘The problem could have been extremely serious and they are very lucky that the vehicle stopped when it did,’ he said. ‘The Fire Service did a great job.’
