Oil price fuels inflation rate fall

In what will be welcome news for Islanders, the second quarter figures, which record the previous 12 months until June, show that the cost of living rose by 1.6 per cent. That compares to a 1.7 per cent increase in the previous quarter.

As well as being 0.1 per cent slower than the first quarter figures released in March it is also a significant drop from 2011 when inflation rates increased by more than five per cent.
