Speaking yesterday at a press conference called following Saturday’s killing, Detective Superintendent Stewart Gull, who is one of the officers leading the murder investigation, said such incidents were rare.
‘It’s incredibly rare,’ he said. ‘Jersey is a very safe place to live, work and visit. The last homicide was in the summer of 2011, three years ago.’
He later added that there was no ongoing risk to the public.
