More than 2,500 Islanders packed into the area behind the Moulin de Lecq pub at Grève de Lecq for the annual non-profit festival on Saturday.

Tickets sold out early in the day, and as some festival-goers left the event early, more tickets became available at the entrance.

Beth Gallichan, the event’s founder, said she was delighted with the day but admitted there were some ‘teething problems’ with getting people away from the festival, some people having to wait two hours for a coach.

‘The problem was that we had such an increased volume of people who all wanted to leave at the same time,’ she said.

‘We had increased the number of coaches from the year before –we only had one last year and we had four or five this year – but we just didn’t anticipate that everyone would be leaving at the same time.

‘I apologise to those who had to wait and to the residents, who have been so great.

‘We learn each year and we want to improve and get people’s feedback.’

Miss Gallichan added her thanks to the States police and the honorary officers for their support and said that otherwise, it had been another very successful event.

‘Its about getting the community together,’ she said.

‘We managed to use the site to its full potential.

‘It’s a naturally beautiful area and we have the pub there and we really enjoy making the most of the site.
