Bike ride for Macmillan Cancer Support is a ‘runway’ success

It was organised by air traffic engineer and mountain biker Sean Le Breuilly in preparation for a gruelling cycle challenge he is undertaking next month over the Pyrenees mountain range for the local charity, and to boost his fundraising efforts.

He says the riders who turned out for the rare chance to ride along the 1,500-metre runway and back, were diverse, as a little boy completing one length on a bike with stabilisers, to an Islander in a racing wheelchair and that he decided to undertake the challenge from the historic French city of Carcassonne to Barcelona in Spain, because a close member of his family was touched by cancer in 2015.

The Macmillan Jersey Pyrenees Cycle Challenge takes place between 13 and 18 June, and competitors will spend four days in the saddle.
