Dick Whittington shares his riches

The club’s production of Dick Whittington had a two-week run at the end of last year, finishing on 2 January, and at the end of each show there was a collection for Help A Jersey Child.

In total, panto-goers donated £2,800, which club members recently handed over to the charity’s chairman, Robin Rumboll, at a ceremony at their club room at Val Plaisant.

The seasonal production, which was staged at the Jersey Opera House, under the direction of Alastair Walkinshaw, transported theatre-goers from the streets of London to the exotic shores of Morocco, as the local amateur dramatic troupe performed the classic rags-to-riches tale.
