The licence issued by the regulator, the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority, grants permission to provide a full range of trust services in the jurisdiction to clients from Europe, Asia and the Caribbean.
The new licence has been described as a milestone by director Steve Robinson, who will be helping to build the business in the Cayman market.
As well as the Jersey office on the Esplanade, the group has a presence in the British Virgin Islands, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Singapore, Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates.
Hawksford, which is backed by UK mid-market private equity firm Dunedin, offers services to trusts, companies, foundations, partnerships, family offices and investment funds.
