Mr Vardi said that if Jersey wanted to establish itself as a centre for digital businesses, it may have to follow the lead of countries such as Chile by offering financial incentives.
‘They decided to offer US$40,000 to start-ups in order to build a digital hub. It is maybe something that Jersey should look at,’ he said
Over 180 delegates from 15 countries are attending the (un)conference sponsored by Locate Jersey and Digital Jersey, with 140 of them from overseas.
An un(conference), the organisers explained, has ‘no formal agenda, speeches or presentations.
