LES Mielles Ladies Golf Club celebrated its 35th birthday in style with a Texas Scramble competition.
The milestone event united members, both past and present, to celebrate their club’s rich history, achievements and the spirit of camaraderie that has made it a cornerstone of women’s golf in Jersey.
Founded in 1989, Les Mielles Ladies Golf Club’s main objective has been to promote and support women’s participation in the sport and to provide a vibrant and supportive environment for women of all ages and abilities to enjoy the game.
Les Mielles Ladies captain Tracey Bougourd said: “This 35th anniversary is not just about looking back, but also about looking forward.
“We are so proud of the community we have built and grateful to the women who started it all.
“This Texas Scramble was a chance to celebrate together and continue the tradition of friendship and support that has always been at the heart of our club.”
The event format, known for its focus on teamwork and fun, allowed players of all skill levels to contribute to their team’s success, ensuring that everyone had an enjoyable experience on the course.
Following the tournament, a celebratory dinner was held in the evening at the clubhouse, where seven founder members were in attendance, two of whom are still playing competitive golf at the ages of 92 and 86 respectively.
Les Mielles Ladies Golf Club continues to strive to foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for women’s golf, and the anniversary proved a fitting tribute to the club’s legacy and its bright future.
