Jersey Bulls look to continue their fine form in tonight's fixture Picture: SIMON ROE

BACK to their winning ways – Jersey Bulls returned from Imperial Fields with an additional three points in hand after defeating Balham 4-1 in the Combined Counties Premier Division South.

Currently occupying eighth, tonight’s opposition are Sheerwater, sat five places behind in thirteenth.

On the road again, Elliot Powell’s Bulls have faced a challenging start to the season, though his group have certainly shown their mettle, remaining undefeated, despite only playing once thus far in front of home support.

Last season, the Sheers finished in a lowly nineteenth position and, having conceded the most goals in the league, they avoided relegation by just one spot.

In contrast, Bulls finished in the polar opposite second spot, just one shy of promotion.

In both of their encounters last campaign, the Bulls reigned supreme, with a convincing 4-0 win at home and solid 2-1 victory away.

The fast-thinking Miguel Carvalho seemed to be a key player for Jersey Bulls, putting one past Sheerwater in each clash.

After returing to winning ways on Saturday, Powell and his men will be keen to keep that momentum and pick up a second away win in the space o three days.

With the workhorse James Sunley as a new important face in the midfield, and Lorne Bickley back to his goal-scoring best, the Islanders will provide a true offensive threat to the hosts from Surrey.

Jersey Bulls: Euan Van Der Vliet, Fraser Barlow, Jack Lumsden, James Queree (c), James Sunley, JJ Lloyd, Joe Kilshaw, Jonny Le Quesne, Karl Hinds, Lorne Bickley, Luke Watson, Miguel Carvalho, Sammy Sutcliffe, Seaney McColgan, Toby Ritzema.

Steven Anderson – Predicted Bulls XI

As with any season, injuries will play their part. Elliot Powell saw Harry Curtis injured on Saturday, before his replacement Luke Campbell also needed replacing by Jack Lumsden, who I think will start this evening. JJ Lloyd should continue at left-back with Jay Giles still missing. The one change I am making is bringing in Fraser Barlow at the expense of Joe Kilshaw, who has played a lot of minutes during the early season. This leaves the dynamic combination of Toby Ritzema and James Sunley in the heart of midfield, with Barlow and Miguel Carvalho flanking number 9 Lorne Bickley.
