JERSEY golfer Jo Hacker continues a demanding early-season run with a trip to Florida next week.
The Islander will tee off in two events, including the Ocala Open, to sharpen his game ahead of an important Spring schedule on the Alps Tour – in Italy and Egypt.
A spot on the HotelPlanner [Challenger] Tour is the target for the 26-year-old in 2026 and he has made good progress so far this year – tying for eighth at the New Giza Golf Club in Cairo earlier this month, having claimed 15th and 16th elsewhere in Egypt in February.
Following an 11-day stint in America, the La Moye golfer will head straight into a busy European stretch, beginning with the Alps Tour stop in Milan [9–11 April]. He is then scheduled to compete in two more tournaments in Egypt – subject to developments with the Middle East conflict – before travelling back to Italy for another round near Rome from 29 April.
“I feel pretty good at the moment,” said Hacker, who has been retained on Jersey Sport’s Performance Sport Programme for 2026. “My first three tournaments in Egypt were pretty solid – a lot better than last year.
“Physically, I’m a better driver now, a better putter, and mentally, I’m learning to play under pressure better. Obviously I still feel like I can improve but it’s all turning in the right direction.
“I want a top five finish at the end of the year, so I can move up a league [to the Challenger Tour].”
