The former St Mary’s School pupil spent the 2017/18 season living and training in the French resort of Tignes, and following an impressive year under the guidance of race academy Apex2100 he has drawn attention from Snowsport England.
Ogden (13) finished the last campaign among the top boys in the country for all three ski disciplines – the Slalom, Giant Slalom and ‘Super G’ – and won the slalom at the English Alpine Championships in Bormio in February. He also claimed gold and silver medals in the Aiglon College races in Switzerland, and has been an English Schools age-group winner in each of the last five years.
Following a summer training in Jersey – with the help of a surfboard in St Ouen’s Bay – Ogden will attend national training days and fitness assessments, with the aim of competing for Great Britain in 2018/19.
