Last February, both Cann and Agathangelou indicated that they wished to compete at next summer’s Games under the Jersey flag, but at that stage it was still out of their hands.

The pair have since been released by Badminton England and have just been deemed eligible, by the Games Association, to represent Jersey.

Former national champion Mark Constable, who represented England at both the 1998 and 2002 Commonwealth Games, has also been cleared to represent Jersey, should he be selected.
