A heavyweight match-up

Twice world champion Tim Witherspoon – best-remembered in Britain for his defeat of Frank Bruno at Wembley in 1986 – thinks that the sport has lost its way because the voices of wealth and publicity have drowned out those of wisdom and experience.

‘Terrible’ Tim Witherspoon – the sobriquet coined by sparring partner Muhammad Ali for his fearsome presence rather than fighting style – is coming to Jersey next month to share a stage with ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson.
