A COMMUNITY fundraising walk is set to take place this summer in memory of a “much-loved member of the Centrepoint family” who passed away suddenly last month.
Kianne “Ki” Moy passed away unexpectedly on Thursday 21 May, following an adrenal crisis.
The 24-year-old underwent surgery to remove a brain tumour in 2015 when she was just 14 years old and later suffered a stroke, which led to several health conditions affecting her everyday life.
The Blue for Ki Walk will take place on Saturday 11 July, on what would have been Kianne’s 25th birthday.
The event aims to honour her life and raise funds for Centrepoint and the Jersey Brain Tumour Charity – two charities which “supported and enhanced Ki’s life”, according to organisers.
Participants will walk approximately six miles from Jardin de la Mer to St Aubin Harbour and back, wearing blue, purple and other bright colours in celebration of Kianne’s “vibrant spirit”.
The event is due to begin at 11am, with registration opening from 10am. Registration costs £11 per person, and children under 16 can take part free of charge when accompanied by a responsible adult.
Organisers described Kianne as a “much-loved daughter, sister, friend, colleague and member of the Centrepoint family”.
“Her kindness, laughter, determination and caring nature touched the lives of so many people, and she continues to be deeply missed,” they added.
“Whether you knew Ki personally, knew her family, or simply want to support two fantastic local charities, we would love to see you there.”
Anyone wishing to take part can sign up on Race Nation ahead of the event.
