THE popular Norman Market will return to St Helier tomorrow, bringing a taste of France to the Weighbridge for five days of food, drink and shopping.
Running from Wednesday 13 May until Sunday 17 May, the event will feature traders from Normandy selling a wide range of regional produce and artisan goods.
Visitors will be able to enjoy traditional favourites including cider, sausage sandwiches, tartiflette and freshly made crêpes while browsing stalls offering cheeses, wines, olives, saucissons, biscuits, soaps, bags and wooden games.
Organisers say they are also pleased to welcome a new trader this year, Clem L’Escale Gourmande from Gouville-sur-Mer in La Manche, who will be serving filled galettes and crêpes.
The market will open daily from 9am to 6pm, although traders may stay later depending on visitor numbers.
On the final day, Sunday 17 May, stalls are expected to stop trading at around 4.30pm.
Maison de la Normandie et de la Manche, which organises the event, said the Norman Market had become a well-established fixture in Jersey’s calendar and aimed to promote the quality of Norman and French products while bringing something different to the Island.
Organisers also confirmed that permission had been granted for traders to bring meat and dairy products into Jersey following checks by the States Veterinary Officer.
