ESSENTIAL upgrades to Jersey’s water mains network have begun in Conway Street today, with road closures and diversions now in place.
Jersey Water said the works – which are being carried out alongside the Government of Jersey’s wider improvement programme for the area – are expected to last between 10 and 14 days.
Access to properties will be maintained throughout the project, although motorists are being advised to expect disruption in the town centre while the works are under way.
To minimise impact, the programme is being delivered in phases.

Jersey Water has confirmed that further works are scheduled to take place in Broad Street later in May.
Residents and businesses in the area were contacted in advance, and the utility company said it would continue to provide regular updates as the project progresses.
