A PROPOSITION to appoint Paul Dossett as Jersey’s next Comptroller and Auditor General has been lodged by the Chief Minister.

The seven-year fixed term of the current Comptroller and Auditor General Lynn Pamment CBE is due to end on 31 December 2026.

If approved by the States Assembly, Mr Dossett will take up the post on 1 January 2027 for a seven-year term.

He is currently a partner and Head of Public Sector Assurance for Grant Thornton in London and the South East.

The Comptroller and Auditor General is an independent officer who provides assurance that public finances are properly regulated, controlled, and accounted for.

The proposed appointment of Mr Dossett follows a recruitment process overseen by the Jersey Appointments Commission.
