PORTS of Jersey has welcomed the return of direct flights to Munich in 2026 with Lufthansa due to offer a bolstered service over the summer.

Air Dolomiti, which is part of the Lufthansa group, will operate flights to the Bavarian capital on Saturdays starting in May until 3 October.

And Lufthansa will operate additional Wednesday services between 22 July and 2 September.

Paul Holley, head of connectivity at Ports of Jersey, said: “We’re excited to welcome back Lufthansa’s Munich service for 2026 which will increase to up to two direct flights per week and offer onward connections through Lufthansa’s extensive network.”

He continued: “The Munich service from 4 May, is complemented by Eurowings’ weekly flights between Dusseldorf and Jersey, returning from 16 May, which also provides convenient connections to destinations throughout Europe.”

The news comes comes amid continued efforts to strengthen Jersey’s air links that has also seen the return of direct flights to Amsterdam, with a new service to be launched by KLM Royal Dutch Airlines this year.

Mr Holley added: “Our newly announced Amsterdam service, commencing weekly from 4 April, and increasing to daily flights in July and August, will further enhance our connectivity from Jersey with effortless access to KLM’s worldwide network.

“As well as direct European connectivity and increased onward travel options for Islanders, these services strengthen tourism links, enabling visitors from key European markets to enjoy our beautiful Island this summer.”
