A ‘MUCH-LOVED’ charity run is set return for its eighth year to raise money for brain injury and cancer support charities.

Organised by Harry McAlinden and Paul Burrows of Trail Monkey Jersey, who have sponsored the run, the event was set up in memory of Frank “Frubbs” MacFarlane.

Mr MacFarlane moved to the Island from Dumbarton is Scotland, working in the hospitality industry for many years. He died after suffering a brain injury in July 2017.

The run was set up to act as a celebration of his life and the positivity he shared, while raising funds and awareness for two Jersey charities supporting people through difficult times.

The route is described as a ‘scenic’ ten-mile course from the Waterfront up the Railway Walk to St Aubin and back to Castle Quay.

This year’s chosen charities are Headway Jersey and Macmillan Jersey.

The event is due to take place on Sunday with those taking part asked to arrive at 9.30am.

Entry is £35 which includes a t-shirt (while stocks last), post-race refreshments, chip timing, awards and a medal upon completion. This also includes at least a £10 fundraising commitment- which gets split evenly between Headway and Macmillan.
