LOGANAIR has taken on at least 50 Blue Islands employees since the latter airline ceased trading and went into liquidation, the JEP understands.
It follows interviews carried out by the Scottish carrier – which has stepped in alongside Aurigny to support air connectivity – earlier this week.
On Wednesday, liquidators Ernst & Young said that Blue Islands had employed around 110 people, mostly based in the Channel Islands.
The majority were made redundant, with 12 staff retained to support the winding down process.
The JEP understands that more than 50 employees, mainly crew, have been taken on by Loganair so far.
In a previous update following Blue Islands’ collapse, Ports of Jersey said Loganair is planning to establish a “permanent operating base on the Island”.
Ports stated that: “We thank Loganair for their swift response and commitment to supporting Jersey’s connectivity at this critical moment.
“We look forward to collaborating with them in the weeks and months ahead as we build a strong and sustainable partnership for the Island.”
