Filming for the second series of Bergerac has taken place in a number of locations throughout the Island, including Gorey Picture: ROB CURRIE

FILMING for the second series of the new Bergerac is due to conclude later this week.

Executive producer Brian Constantine said he was “extremely proud” of those working on the reimagined detective drama, after more than 60 days of filming took place across Jersey and Devon.

Commissioned by BBC-owned broadcaster UKTV, the first series of the long-anticipated reboot – offering a “contemporary twist” on the popular 80s detective drama created by Robert Banks Stewart – launched in February on U and U&DRAMA.

Mr Constantine said that filming for a second series, which is expected to air in early 2026, had gone “incredibly well and smoothly”.

“I’m extremely proud of our entire team for their professionalism and dedication throughout the shoot,” he continued.

“Our time in Jersey went exactly to plan and was a real success. Bringing over a hundred cast and crew to the Island was no small exercise, but everyone rose to the occasion brilliantly.”

Gorey, Grosnez, St Brelade’s Bay, the Lido at Havre des Pas and the Old Court House in St Aubin are among the filming locations that have been spotted by Islanders.

Visit Jersey chief executive Tricia Warwick has previously stated that the first series “significantly raised Jersey’s profile as a must-visit destination” and that the organisation was “excited to see even more of our Island’s stunning landscapes and unique locations featured in series two”.

A successful return

In April, UKTV revealed that the first series of the new Bergerac had become the second highest rating programme on U&DRAMA, with 1.8 million consolidated viewers tuning in.
