FAMILIES are being encouraged to donate used school uniforms to a Jersey charity shop in exchange for a discount on new uniforms.
Under the scheme, families can drop off old school uniforms (that are still in useable condition) at the Autism Jersey shop on the Parade and, in exchange, receive a voucher for 10% off school uniforms at M&S.
The scheme aims to “support those with school-age children and help make their money go a little further in the current financial climate”, according to Lesley Harrison, head of charitable services at Autism Jersey.
The charity assists Islanders who are on the autism spectrum as well as their families.
Managing director of M&S Jersey and iQ, Caroline Slowey, said the scheme “reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting local charities, children, and the environment”.

She added: “This scheme not only promotes sustainability through recycling but also makes school uniforms more accessible and affordable for families across our island. We encourage everyone to get involved and help make a meaningful difference—together, we can turn simple actions into lasting impact.”
The deadline to donate used uniforms is 15 August and the voucher is valid at M&S King Street until 27 September, organisers said.
