FANCY buying a car with a long and storied history?
Then this black Lexus – used by an expat to transport around £350,000 of drugs on the ferry into Jersey – could be the vehicle for you.
The car is to be put up for auction following a ministerial decision by the Home Affairs Minister.
Tony Spencer was jailed for three years and nine months this year after importing nine kilos of cannabis worth an estimated £279,000 and 290 grams of cocaine which could have fetched £71,000.
He arrived off the ferry from St Malo on 10 April last year with the drugs hidden in his Jersey-registered car.
Spencer claimed he was looking to relocate to Jersey after a stint as a butcher in Malaga.
But Customs officers found a commercial heat-sealing machine, of the kind used by butchers, with the cocaine and cannabis inside it, following a search of his vehicle.

Another car, which was used to import drugs on 12 October 2019 and seized on 21 October, is to be scrapped due to its poor condition.
Under Jersey Customs legislation, the Home Affairs Minister has the power to decide how any forfeited vehicle is disposed of.
