THE Jersey Style Awards could return in 2025, the event’s founder has revealed.

Media and fashion entrepreneur Dr Tessa Hartmann said she was currently investigating whether she could raise enough sponsorship to hold the awards, which seeks to showcase local businesses, arts, style and culture.

Dr Hartmann explained that it last took place in 2019, before the pandemic made it untenable.

“Covid was a wipeout for everybody – it wasn’t even something I considered holding [at the time] because I knew businesses were trying to survive,” she added.

However, the Real Housewives of Jersey star revealed she was seeking to reintroduce the awards next year, if she can raise the £150,000 needed to do so.

This includes costs associated with the venue, as well as production and marketing for the event.

Dr Hartmann noted that it generated a lot of media exposure and also attracted interest from celebrities – with previous attendees including Dame Shirley Bassey and Chris Eubank Jr, among others.

“There are so many things the event brings to the table in terms of the national conversation about Jersey. We have so many businesses and people that need a platform to shine.

“It’s also something to look forward to,” she continued, describing the event as “good news” for the Island. She explained that she was currently trying to gauge interest in the Awards and was approaching several organisations – including Visit Jersey and the government – as well as private sector businesses about potential sponsorship.

“I want to sit down with them all and see what they would want to get out of this.”
