Stereophonics and Eurovision hero Sam Ryder booked for new Friday night at Jersey's Weekender Festival

STEREOPHONICS are set to headline the new Friday night at Weekender Festival in September.

The Welsh rock band, who have sold over ten million records since breaking into the music scene in the 1990s, will be joined by the UK’s Eurovision hero Sam Ryder, indie-pop band Pale Waves and Liverpool band Stone.

In a statement, the Weekender Festival organisers said: ‘We are delighted to announce that this year, for the first time ever, Weekender will feature an extra special opening night on Friday 2nd September headlined by one of the all-time great British bands.

‘2022 marks an amazing 25 years together for Stereophonics, and you can expect a must-see set full of all their classic tracks like ‘Maybe Tomorrow’, ‘Have A Nice Day’ and ‘Dakota’ to name a few, as well as some of their incredible new material.’

The Saturday and Sunday line-ups feature The Jacksons, Jax Jones, Tom Walker, Ella Henderson, The Proclaimers and Sigala. More acts are due to be added next week.

Tickets for the Friday night show, at the Royal Jersey Showground in Trinity, will be available on weekender.je from 7am Friday.
