In Another Mother’s Son, the former Boyzone singer plays the role of Jerseyman Harold Le Druillenec.
His sister, St Ouen shopkeeper Louisa Gould, takes in a Russian slave worker, Feodor Burriy, naming him Bill and teaching him to speak some French in an effort to avoid detection by German authorities.
After the German high command are tipped off by an anonymous letter, the two are sent to a German concentration camp. Harold survives but Louisa dies in a gas chamber.
Last month, after an initial Première of the film in London, the production was screened at the Jersey War Tunnels to an audience of Occupation survivors, their children and the media. Speaking to a national paper, Mr Keating said that he found it difficult to act some scenes in the film.
He said: ‘The weight of responsibility that we had to tell their story and to do it justice was overwhelming.
Another Mother’s Son is currently screening at cinemas across Britain. The last Jersey showings of the film at Cineworld are due to take place tomorrow.
