Trump could be good for business, local firms told

The billionaire businessman will become the 45th president of the United States in January after voters gambled on his pledge to ‘Make America Great Again’.

Meanwhile, as the world dissects the shock result of the American election, Jersey’s External Relations Minister Philip Bailhache has said that he is looking forward to working with the President-elect’s government and that he expects the ‘good working-level relationship’ the Island has with the US to continue.

It comes as several Island finance businesses said that his presidency was not likely to have a dramatic impact on business despite global predictions that a Trump win would throw the markets into pandemonium.
