The President of Normandy, Hervé Morin, and the President of the La Manche region, Philippe Bas, made an official visit to both Guernsey and Jersey this week.

The visit concluded with the signing of a co-operation agreement between the four jurisdictions, which was attended by Chief Minister Ian Gorst and Guernsey Chief Minister Gavin St Pierre.

During a presentation following the signing ceremony, External Relations Minister Philip Bailhache, who is also an assistant minister in the Education Department, said that plans for a bilingual school in Jersey were in progress.
