With a week to go until the parade, Miss Battle and the Battle Bee were on hand on Thursday to open the official Battle of Flowers ticket kiosk in Liberty Wharf.

Jackie Donald, the Battle’s event director, said that the Victoria Avenue arena could hold up to 15,000 spectators at both parades, with a combination of covered seating areas, pavement seats, and standing tickets.

‘Ticket sales were on par with last year until earlier this week, but since then we have seen a slight increase in sales compared to last year, which is probably down to the sunshine,’ she said.

The official Battle ticket kiosk at Liberty Wharf will be open every day from 9 am until 5.30 pm, and from 10 am until 4 pm on Sunday. In addition it will be open on Thursday morning ahead of the parade. In addition, tickets can be bought online or from the Battle headquarters at Meadowbank in St Lawrence.
