On Wednesday night the 19-year-old trainee administrator began a two-night tour of all the Battle sheds and marquees, accompanied by her consort, Rebecca Amy, and Miss Junior Battle, Lucy-Anne Richford. They are joined on the visits by parade officials and members of the media.
It marks the start of a busy fortnight for the trio, who will be officially opening the Battle Funfair on Friday , opening the Battle ticket kiosk at Liberty Wharf next Thursday , touring hotels meeting tourists in the Island for the parade, and attending a number of functions and events.
This year’s Battle of Flowers will take place on Thursday 11 August, with the Moonlight Parade following on the evening of Friday 12 August.
On Monday the JEP will be launching a daily page counting down to this year’s parades.
